The Beatrix Building
Jaarbeurs Utrecht is one of the largest conference and exhibition complexes in the Netherlands. The Beatrix Building sits at its edge, linked directly to Utrecht Central Station.
The venue stood at Beatrix Building, Jaarbeursplein 6A, 3521 AL Utrecht, within the Jaarbeurs complex. The building is a short walk from the station concourse, with clear signs for Jaarbeursplein.
For delegates arriving by car, the published navigation address was Graadt van Roggenweg 400, which led to parking P1. The city was working on major road changes around Jaarbeurs at the time, so delegates were advised to check the current access information.
Utrecht as a host city
Utrecht is a medieval city that grew into a regional capital. Its canals, wharves and courtyards sit beside a large university and a compact modern centre. The city is home to Utrecht University and to the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences. The organisers placed that institute among Europe's leading centres for environmental epidemiology.
The venue's position next to the station made the city centre easy to reach on foot. Museums, restaurants and the historic canal area were within a short walk or a few minutes by bus.
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is about thirty minutes away by train or car, and Utrecht has direct rail links to surrounding countries.
