The selection
The symposia were the meeting's main instrument for assembling focused, cross disciplinary conversations. Proposals were judged on the relevance of the topic, the clarity of the objectives, the quality and diversity of the speakers, and the appropriateness of the format.
The published programme table carried twenty numbered entries for a meeting described as hosting twenty one symposia. The directory below follows the published entries but is arranged by topic. Topic labels are editorial summaries written for this archive; the numbering follows the 2019 programme.

What the symposia covered
The directory shows the range of the 2019 programme: air pollution and the metabolome, clean cooking and household fuel, One Health, the global burden of disease, PFAS, lead, greenness and noise, climate mitigation, exposomic methods, the microbiome, pesticides, big data and the influence of fossil fuel interests on evidence.
Some symposia were built around a single method or dataset; others were designed as policy conversations. The final programme carried the room, date and speaker list for each one.
Numbering note The published table ran from S01 to S10 and then from S12 to S21. The archive keeps that numbering rather than inventing an entry for S11.
